Due to its mild flavor, corn oil is a popular cooking oil and is also used in salad dressings, shortenings, margarines, spreads, sauces and baked goods. Corn oil is used in a wide variety of foods and baked goods because of its mild flavor, easy digestibility, and high nutritional value. Worldwide, 3,189,137 tons of corn oil are produced each year. The United States is the world's largest corn oil producer with an annual production of 1,818,100 tons. The United States alone produces over 50% of the world's corn oil.
